Urbanity’s instructors will guide you through exercises designed to enhance and maintain mobility, flexibility, balance, posture, coordination, and strength, which are all easily modifiable for various levels of mobility. In this social, creative outlet, participants can discover or rediscover the joy of movement. The class is open to all levels of movers, and caregivers and loved ones are always welcome to join. No previous dance experience is required, and participants are welcome to join any time of the year. Concord, MA – Parkinson’s Movement: Dance for PD *This class is being offered both virtually and in-person.* This “Parkinson’s Movement: Healing Movement to Music for Parkinson’s and Movement-Related Disorders” classes uses various dance techniques and styles to address balance, flexibility, movement range and rhythm in a safe and enjoyable environment. It is based on the acclaimed Dance for PD® program developed by the Mark Morris Dance Group and Brooklyn Parkinson Group. Research has found that dance techniques can be helpful to those with Parkinson’s and other mobility disorders including shaking, rigidity, slowness of movement, and difficulty with walking and gait.
