Deep Brain Stimulation & Focused Ultrasound for Parkinson’s Disease

Deep brain stimulation (DBS) and focused ultrasound (FUS) are two medical procedures that can help treat certain symptoms of Parkinson’s disease. Each can be quite beneficial, but they are not appropriate for everyone. Register today for our program on Wednesday, March 6 at 1 PM ET, when we will speak with Dr. Ihtsham ul Haq, an expert on DBS and FUS, who will help us understand more about these procedures.
APDA PRESS (Parkinson’s Roadmap for Education and Support Services)
Saturdays, April 6 – June 1, 2024
This 8-week program provides an opportunity for people with Parkinson’s and one partner or other family member to meet with others facing a similar experience and share coping strategies regarding day-to-day issues related to living with Parkinson’s. PRESS is a place to share feelings in a safe, caring environment and gather to share information and resources. This program is facilitated by a licensed social worker, and includes guest speakers.
The group is open to any adult who has been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease within the last 5 years and one partner or other family member. There is no cost for this program.

We’re so excited for our 38th Annual APDA MA Optimism Walk for Parkinson’s! Join us for an afternoon of fun, family, friends, food, and more. We’ll have local and regional resources, information on PD programming, and music, too. We hope you will be able to come to this wonderful community event.
Care Partner Programming
APDA Virtual Care Partners Group
2nd Thursday and 4th Wednesday of each month
Join Sarah Singer, LICSW, for this twice-monthly virtual support group for care partners of people with Parkinson’s. Receive useful information from guest speakers, and connect with other care partners who share some of the same experiences in caregiving.
