NEW!A Phase II, double-blind, placebo-controlled study to assess the safety and efficacy of ONO-2808

Yale is excited to offer an opportunity for people diagnosed with Multiple System Atrophy to participate in a clinical trial of a new therapy which may reduce the symptoms of the disease! Potential participants must be 60-80 years old and can have MSA-P or MSA-C.

NEW! Neurodegenerative Disease Study

If you are 40-90 years of age and have been diagnosed with or know someone diagnosed with REM Behavior Disorder, Lewy Body disease or early-stage Parkinson’s disease, you or they may be eligible to participate in this study. The purpose of this research study is to see how these disorders affect brain networks, perception, and cognition. Visits involve medical screening, cognitive tests, and MRI imaging.

Tracing the Origin and Progression of Parkinson’s Disease through the Neuro-Immune Interactome

Observational/longitudinal study hypothesizing that in a subset of cases, PD is initiated by an autoimmune process involving alpha-synuclein specific T-cell activation by gut microbiome dysbiosis, followed by neuro-immune interactions that establish the disease in the brain.

NEW! Cognitive Training Study in Parkinson’s Disease

To understand the potential mental and brain effects of cognitive training in Parkinson’s disease.

NEW! Augmentation in Restless Legs Syndrome

We are recruiting patients with severe and worsening restless legs syndrome who are taking dopamine agonist medications, including ropinirole (Requip), pramipexole (Mirapex), or the rotigotine patch (Neupro). We will measure levels of particular hormones, called the melanocortin hormones in patients with RLS.

NEW! Intestinal Immunity in Neurological Disease

If you are due for a routine colonoscopy, you may be eligible for a research study trying to determine the causes of certain neurologic diseases, such as Multiple Sclerosis or Parkinson’s. Participants will undergo tissue biopsies during their routine colonoscopy and will have a blood draw. Anyone who is due for a screening colonoscopy may qualify for the study.

Measuring Synaptic Density in Parkinson’s Disease with SV2A PET Imaging

Investigates the changes in synaptic density in individuals with PD by using PET imaging with 11C-UCB-J, a recently developed PET radiotracer that binds to the synaptic vesicle glycoprotein, 2A.

People with Parkinson’s disease or other forms of parkinsonism have a much higher risk of hip and other fractures. Consider joining a virtual study where you can participate entirely from the comfort of your own home. TOPAZ (Trial of Parkinson’s and Zoledronic Acid) will test if zoledronate, can prevent fractures in people with Parkinson’s disease or other forms of parkinsonism, whether or not they have osteoporosis. You could receive $100 upon enrollment and $50 pear year during the study. For more information, please visit TOPAZstudy.org, or call us directly at (415) 317-5748.
