APDA Iowa Optimism Walk Recap: A Day Filled with Hope and Community.
What an incredible day we shared at the 2026 APDA Iowa Optimism Walk!
Thanks to the generosity, passion, and dedication of our participants, teams, volunteers, sponsors, and donors, we have officially surpassed our fundraising goal, raising more than $221,000 and counting!
More importantly, we came together as a community. We celebrated loved ones, honored those impacted by Parkinson’s disease, shared stories, made new memories, and enjoyed a day full of fun, connection, and hope. From the music and activities to the smiles, hugs, and conversations along the walk route, the energy was truly inspiring.
Every dollar raised helps ensure that APDA can continue providing education, support groups, exercise and wellness programs, and resources to people living with Parkinson’s disease and their families throughout Iowa, all at no cost to participants.
To everyone who walked, donated, volunteered, sponsored, fundraised, or cheered us on from afar: thank you. Because of you, thousands of Iowa families affected by Parkinson’s will continue to find support, connection, and hope in the year ahead.
