8-Week Programs for Individuals Living with Parkinson’s and Their Care Partners
If you or a loved one has been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease (PD), you don’t have to navigate the journey alone. The APDA Iowa Chapter offers two, 8-week education and support programs, at no cost, designed to meet you where you are, whether you’re newly diagnosed or further along in your journey. PRESS™ – For Those Diagnosed Within the Last 5 Years
PRESS™ is an education and support program designed for individuals who have been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease within the past five years, along with their care partners.
This program helps you better understand your diagnosis, build confidence, and develop strategies for managing daily life with Parkinson’s.
What You’ll Learn:
- What’s next after a Parkinson’s diagnosis
- Medication management basics
- The importance of exercise in Parkinson’s care
- Managing physical symptoms
- Coping with changes in daily life and relationships
- Practical tips for everyday living
- Caring for others while caring for yourself
- Building your healthcare team
Who Should Join:
- Individuals diagnosed with Parkinson’s within the last 5 years
- Care partners, spouses, or family members
- Anyone seeking guidance, education, and support early in the journey

PRESS ON™ is an 8-week program focused on the evolving challenges of Parkinson’s and how to navigate them with confidence, support, and resilience.
