In addition, it describes the tools that will get you started and keep you going, on your journey toward improved wellness. Dance for Parkinson’s participants are empowered to explore movement and music in ways that are refreshing, enjoyable, stimulating and creative. Launched as a non-profit collaboration between the Mark Morris Dance Group and the Brooklyn Parkinson Group, the Dance for PD® program also provides teacher training, creates innovative instructional media. They offer an at-home DVD or Moving Through Glass app. Davis Phinney Foundation’s Exercise Essentials video provides a range of workouts designed specifically for people with Parkinson’s and is easily modified for any fitness level. Parkinson Wellness Recovery PWR! is Parkinson disease-specific, neuroplasticity-principled exercise programs that hold promise to slow disease progression, improve symptoms, restore function, and increase longevity and quality of life. Fitness, health and wellness professionals can learn how to lead these programs. YouTube playlists Parkinson’s Training for Fitness, Health and Wellness Professionals is a free online training program designed to teach fitness professionals how to best meet the unique needs of PD patients.
