Thanks to the support of generous donors, APDA Iowa is proud to offer Connecting Through Art — a free, monthly creative arts program for individuals living with Parkinson’s disease and their care partners. In partnership with the Des Moines Art Center, this engaging series invites participants to explore art, spark conversation, and build community.
Held on the third Tuesday of each month at 2 PM, each session features a docent-led deep dive into a single work of art, designed to encourage discussion, reflection, and connection. Following the gallery talk, guests can enjoy casual conversation over coffee and tea. Care partners are welcome and encouraged to attend.
This unique program promotes emotional well-being, social interaction, and creative stimulation — all key elements of living well with Parkinson’s disease.
Upcoming Dates: August 19th, September 16th, October 15th.
