Optimism Walk Join our Community 21st Annual APDA Optimism Walk & 5K Register Now Each year, the Rhode Island Chapter of the APDA holds this event to help raise money to support scientific research into the cause and cure of Parkinson’s disease and to support families living with this disease. Whether you are able to join us, sponsor us, or support a beautiful event, we thank you for your participation. The event is an official 5K Race and 1.5 Mile Walk, however, walkers can walk any part of this or choose to enjoy the beautiful day and the many other activities. Registration begins at 9 am on Saturday, September 7th at Goddard State Park, Ives Road in Warwick, RI. Come out for a fun-filled, family day and make a difference in the lives of those with Parkinson’s disease! There will be indoor and outdoor entertainment throughout the day provided by Luke Renchan Entertainment, Full Picnic, Children’s Games, Raffles, Prizes and so much more! Race Awards include $100 gift cards for the 1st Male & Female Overall. Additional awards for the top three finishers in the following categories: Junior Division 18 and under; Open Division 19-39; Masters 40-49; Seniors 50 – 59; and Veterans 60 and over; and a Parkinson Division.
