COVID-19 Cancelations | APDA Iowa Chapter

The American Parkinson Disease Association (APDA) is closely monitoring Coronavirus Disease 2019 (also known as COVID-19) situation for the safety of our event attendees, volunteers and staff. As the disease can pose an increased threat for people with underlying health issues and/or advanced age, which includes many people living with Parkinson’s disease, we are ever mindful of your health and well-being. As such, we have been evaluating our upcoming events, support groups and exercise classes in conjunction with the recommendations and guidelines put forth by local health officials. In an abundance of caution, we will be suspending the Iowa Chapter support groups, exercise classes and all events beginning Monday, March 16 until further notice.   We will extend that deadline if necessary. We will resume classes/groups as soon as we possibly can and apologize for any inconvenience. Our Press: PD 101 class has been moved to Webinar Only. This is a free class and registration remains open. Email Sydney at apdaiowa@apdaparkinson.org to sign up.  We encourage our constituents to contact their group/class leader if they have questions about a specific class or events . For your own safety and the safety of others, we do recommend that anyone who is not feeling well stay home and contact your physician.  Sign up for updates on COVID-19 through the Center of Disease Control, by clicking here.
