Founded in 1961, the American Parkinson Disease Association (APDA) is the largest grassroots network dedicated to fighting Parkinson’s disease (PD). We work tirelessly to assist the more than 1 million Americans with Parkinson’s disease live life to the fullest in the face of this chronic, neurological disorder.

APDA Impact in 2016

APDA has raised and invested more than $170 million to provide outstanding patient services and educational programs, elevate public awareness about the disease, and support research designed to unlock the mysteries of Parkinson’s disease and ultimately put an end to this disease.

1,700+ support groups served 74,000 individuals with Parkinson’s disease and their family members
5,500 people with Parkinson’s disease and their care partners attended Educational symposia on living well with the disease
770 exercise groups attended by more than 21,000 participants to improve Parkinson’s disease symptoms and lessen the impact of the disease
