Give Monthly

As a monthly donor, your generosity will help us provide the uninterrupted support, education, and research that help the one million people with PD in the US live with hope and optimism. Plus, it is a fast and convenient way for you to give!

Memorials and Tributes

A memorial gift or gift in honor is a thoughtful way to remember someone special. Be sure to provide the name of the honoree/memorial as well as the contact information of the family member or friend you wish to notify. An acknowledgement letter will be sent to that person and a tax receipt will be sent to you. (We do not specify the donation amount in the acknowledgement to the family.)

Donor-Advised Funds

A donor-advised fund (DAF) is a charitable giving program that allows you to combine the most favorable tax benefits with the flexibility to support your favorite causes.

  • You can contribute cash, securities or other assets to a donor-advised fund.  Typically you are eligible to take an immediate tax deduction and then the funds are invested for potential for tax-free growth. You can then recommend grants to any qualified public charity, such as APDA.
  • You can make a one-time gift or set your DAF account to make automatic recurring grants in the amount and frequency of your choice. It’s easy to do.  Just log into your account on your charitable sponsor’s website and select “recurring” option.  It’s a great way to make your charitable giving more convenient.

If you would like to make a gift now through your DAF, simply click the link below to find your fund:

If you have any questions about making a tax-deductible gift to the American Parkinson Disease Association through a DAF, please contact June Colasuonno at 718-689-3643 or at jcolasuonno@apdaparkinson.org.

Stock Donations

Many individuals choose to make a gift to the American Parkinson Disease Association by donating shares of stock or long-term appreciated securities.
Giving stock doesn’t just help the PD community, it also helps you increase your giving power.

A gift of appreciated stock to APDA can benefit you in two ways: you receive a charitable income tax deduction for the full fair market value of the securities, and at the same time you may avoid capital gains taxes on appreciated stock. This helps stretch your gift even further.

Qualified Charitable Distributions

If you are 70.5 or older with a traditional IRA, you’re eligible for one of the most tax-savvy
ways to support the American Parkinson Disease Association: donating directly from your IRA.
This is also called a qualified charitable distribution, or QCD, or an IRA Rollover:

  • Gifts are always tax-free, regardless of whether or not you itemize your return. This is one of the only ways to make a donation without dipping into your taxable income.
  • You can give up to $100,000 out of your IRA tax-free.

Just like donating via cash or check, giving from your IRA is an immediate and impactful way to
support APDA — but unlike a cash gift, it helps you save on your taxes in the process.

Donating through your IRA doesn’t have to be complicated or stressful, and our online
platform makes it painless and fast. You will be guided through the donation process in
under 10 minutes, with no sensitive information required. Your paperwork will even be
auto-completed online.
