The APDA Partners with locations across Illinois to bring exercise classes closer to you. All classes are fully funded by APDA and offered free of charge to the Parkinson’s community. Springfield, IL (Sangamon County)
The Joy of Movement – a dance class for people with PD and their care partners.
Tuesdays and Thursdays at 1:30 pm – 2:45 pm in person at First Presbyterian Church, 321 South Seventh Street, Springfield, IL 62701
Wednesdays at 10:30 am – 11:45 am online on Zoom. The instructor will gladly assist you in learning to use the zoom platform to participate in online classes.
There is no fee to participate in the class, but registration is required. Due to the progressive structure of the class, no new registrants will be accepted after the first two weeks of class. Rock Steady Boxing
Rock Steady Boxing combines non-contact boxing with group fitness and focuses on building strength, power, flexibility and confidence. This class is specifically for those who are diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease. It is designed to delay the symptoms that come along with Parkinson’s and have fun while doing it. The mission of Rock Steady Boxing is to empower people with Parkinson’s disease to fight back. Located in the new Rock Steady Boxing group exercise room. Schedule: Monday & Wednesday 10-11:30 a.m., Tuesday & Thursday 3-4:30 p.m.
