ABOUT OUR SPEAKER
MONIKA LUKASIEWICZ, OTR/L
Monika Lukasiewicz, OTR/L, an aging specialist, offers potent coaching for realistic change across individual, family, and community levels. Inspired by over 15 years as an occupational therapist, her work emphasizes resilient aging through the use of evidence-inspired practices. Her approach integrates features from the evidence-based programs of COPE (Care of Older People in their Environment), Skills2care, mentor relationships, the Stages of Change Model, Pillars of Healthy Brains and an understanding of Cognitive Staging including their impact on function. She is inspired by community, creativity, and nature’s cycles. She believes aging, especially with neurological conditions, provides opportunities for resilience, deeper connections, and adaptive routines. Monika leverages her expertise to co-create often overlooked, practical solutions, for embracing meaningful engagement with life’s evolving stages. And she is currently creating a private practice to support improving access to evidence-based occupational therapy care for more families living with brain change, especially dementia.
