Helping People with PD Thrive Through Signature Programs
At APDA, every Signature Program is thoughtfully designed in collaboration with people living with PD, care partners, healthcare professionals, and community leaders. That way, we can make sure they address real needs at every stage of the PD journey.
Each program is carefully developed and refined before being introduced nationwide. Our goal is to give participants across the country access to high-quality, consistent programs that make a meaningful difference.
One example is PRESS™ (Parkinson’s Roadmap for Education and Support Services™), an eight-week education and support program for people diagnosed with PD within the last five years, along with their care partners. Led by credentialed mental health professionals, PRESS provides practical education and emotional support, as well as opportunities to connect with others facing similar challenges. Topics range from medication management and exercise to building a healthcare team and navigating relationships.
For those living with PD for five or more years, PRESS ON™ offers another eight-week program tailored to the unique challenges of the middle stages of the disease. Participants receive guidance on symptom progression, safety, mood, planning for the future, and maintaining hope, all while building supportive connections with peers.
Alongside programs such as Connecting Through Art, Parkinson’s Good Start, Navigating Loss Together and more, APDA’s Signature Programs reflect our commitment to creating trusted, evidence-informed resources that empower people with PD and their families.
