Sharlene Bagga-Taves joined APDA in January 2026 as the first Vice President of Federal Relations in our newly-formed Department of Public Policy and Advocacy. In this role, Sharlene leads APDA’s federal public policy and advocacy efforts, developing and implementing initiatives that shape federal policies to improve the lives of people with PD. She’s establishing APDA’s federal public policy agenda, driving advocacy campaigns, engaging policymakers and partners, and conducting policy-related research and analysis to ensure APDA’s voice is heard at the federal level.
Sharlene comes to APDA with more than 20 years of experience navigating the federal policy landscape across healthcare, pharmaceutical access, and science and technology. She has a proven track record of securing multi-billion-dollar appropriations, shaping bipartisan legislation, and advancing federally funded research priorities for leading universities and public health institutions.
