April is Parkinson’s Awareness Month

April is Parkinson’s

Awareness Month

Here at APDA Northwest we’re taking action everyday.

Our programs, communities of support and education events give STRENGTH and OPTIMISM to more than 55,000 individuals and families in the northwest impacted by Parkinson’s Disease.

Did you know?

  • Parkinson’s impacts more that a million Americans – more people than ALS, MS and Muscular Dystrophy combined.
  • Incidence of Parkinson’s increases with age, but an estimated four percent of people with PD are diagnosed before the age of 50.
  • Men are one and a half times more likely than women to have Parkinson’s.
  • It can impact nearly every area of health – from moving, to speaking, to thinking clearly.
  • The cause is unknown and there is no cure.

At APDA we are building a community of STRENGTH and OPTIMISM. Every day, we provide the support, education, and research that will help everyone impacted by Parkinson’s disease live life to the fullest.

YOU can help!

Through donations, participation in fundraising events, and volunteering we can reach even more individuals and families with support and education to manage the impact of this progressive disease.
