How Parkinson's Might Affect Your Family
Do you worry about how PD will impact your child or children, now or in the future?
Do you sometimes wonder how to best explain it and discuss it with them? Now consider this issue from a different perspective, YO are the child. The same way you worry about your child, your parents may now be worrying about you. They want to protect you, help you. How do you let them help without feeling as if you've lost your adult status?
Every parent has concerns about how their children will cope with difficult times, and children often worry when they think they are adding stress to the lives of their parents. Remember though, it is not your job to prevent situations like illness and loss from occurring. Instead, help each other manage disappointments, when they do occur, as best you can.
